Vinylmation Clothes

Ok, I gotta admit that these work much better as clothing designs then they do as stupid little collectible figures or pins. Still don't see why we have to have this junk instead of cool designs of the actual characters.

I Hate Vinylmation

As you know, I dislike Mickey Monsters and Vinylmation.  All the wonderful things that Disney artists could create and Disney has them make this junk.  However, I would be remiss in my Disneyana reporting duties if I did not mention that Disney has opened an official website for Vinylmation.

Giant 5 Foot Vinylmation Figure

Disney has announced many of the live auction lots that will be sold off during the D23 Expo including a 5 foot Vinylmation figure painted by the artist Noah who also designed the D23 exclusive vinylmation figure that will be available. Click here to see the auction catalog. Other lots of interest to collectors include a Whiteware version of the Classics collection piece of the whales from Fantasia 2000, a Peter Pan ride vehicle and 2 Jungle Book cels as they were originally sold at the Art Corner in Disneyland.

Vinylmation online

The Vinylmation Series is now available on DisneyShopping.com by the case or by the single box. Can't help but wonder if this is a dumb move on Disney's part. A lot of the sales thay have on these at the parks are from people buying them to resell on ebay and such. Those sales will vanish if the people buying multiples cant resell them at a profit.

Mickey Monsters? Are they kidding?

On the heels of the stupid vinylmation concept comes Mickey Monsters, a even stupider concept. When I used to work at Pizza Planet, I would talk to people who would spend $50-$100 trying to win a Daisy Duck plush out of the plush cranes because you couldn't buy one in any store on property. Disney has literally hundreds of characters they could make into plush and this is what they come up with? I mean, c'mon, they're not even ugly cute! They're just stupid looking!

Vinylmation Update

Vinylnation has tons of news and pics for upcoming vinylmation figures including the news that there will be one made for the D23 Expo and event exclusives for WDW starting with this year's Halloween Party. Looks like these crazy things are popular enough to be around for quite awhile. I have to admit there has been a few designs I thought were kind of cool but they are still nothing I would ever buy at $10 a shot and not knowing which one I would get. I wonder how popular they would be if you could choose which ones you got and how many designs would just sit there with nobody buying them.

Vinylamtion Update

Vinylnation.net is reporting that the Incredibles and Mine Mine Mine figures are delayed and were not released today with the new Park series. The Chaser in this set is 101 Dalmations.
