Oliver and Company Snowglobe sells for $300
A rarely seen Oliver and Company snowglobe sold on ebay in December for $300. More importantly we were able to update the Collectors Guide listing with a picture of the box.

Are Disney Snowglobes making a comeback?
Looks like Disney is finally putting some effort into creating new snowglobes. First came the highly sought after Frozen snowglobe (have you seen the prices on ebay?) and now what appears to be an original Jungle Book design. I first thought this was a re-release like so many of the last few years but a check of The Disney Snowglobe Collectors Guide did not reveal it in my records. This one seems to be a good value with a blower and a globe that lights up.

Disney is buying Lucasfilm
Just announced today.... Disney is buying Lacasfilm which includes Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Theme Park fans have been drooling over this idea for years and now it is happening. Disney plans on producing more films. Maybe now, they will finally get around to doing that Star Wars tv series.
I have mixed emotions about this actually, While it is certainly a great fit for Disney, it will probably mean even less films that are "Disney" films. What with Muppets, Pixar, Marvel and now Star Wars films being made, how much room is there for films that aren't franchises? Or starting new franchises that aren't being purchased from someone else?
I love em all but would love to see Disney do more stuff on their own.

MUST HAVE FOR HAUNTED MANSION COLLECTORS
This snowglobe is the height and length of a normal sized snowglobe but as you can see by the 3rd photo it is narrow in design. It does have water and glitter in it so that makes it a snowglobe in my book. We've seen this narrow design used in some Christmas Princess globes that were available at Target in 2009. This is the first time we've seen it on this large an item. On sale at Disney Parks for 24.95.
How weird is it that while I was creating this post and the one for the Collectors Guide that 5 tiny spiders decided to start crawling and creating webbing on my computer screen. No lie. Here comes another one. Guess I better turn the lights on and figure out where they hatched from.

UPDATE
Sorry for the delay. A personal tragedy struck in july and I have been dealing with the aftermath ever since. Good news is I have decided to start posting again thanks to an unexpected email from our Disneyland Paris correspondent Maurice. He has sent along a few pics of snowglobes from the European theme park and I am spending this evening setting up posts for the Disney Snowglobe Collectors Guide. Over the next several days you will see some new Disney Christmas snowglobes, a couple of new Nightmare Before Christmas globes and our first Tangled snowglobe entry. Disney Store currently has a nice selection of globes from the past including a good deal on this one from Aladdin......
$79.50 marked down to $32.99!!! Grab it while you can!
