Toy Story Toy Box

What could be more appropriate then a Toy Story toy box?

I sell out, again!

I've added some advertising to the site and hope you won't mind.  Ads for DisneyStore.com and Collectibles Today will be appearing on my various blogs.  Since I'm basically promoting their products anyway I may as well go ahead and get paid for it.  If nothing else, it will provide all of us with a quick link to the sites.
I do promise this will not change what I have to say.  Too expensive is still too expensive and junk is junk.

so....

Don't just sit there...

Buy Something!

New Disney Precious Moments including a snowglobe

While posting these pics a question occurred to me.  Why is it I hate vinylmation and cuties and that awful interpretation of the princesses as Bratz from awhile back, but take no offense to this Precious Moments line?  I've decided the answer is that Vinylmation and their ilk is simply Disney trying to take advantage of a fad or start a new one and has very little artistic value and is usually cheap junk.  The Precious Moments line however does have artistic value with quality production values.  I also tend to look at these as not a new interpretation of the Disney characters but rather as figurines of children playing dress-up.  I generally do not like new interpretations so that probably helps quite a bit.

New D23 Pin Series

D23 has started a new pin series celebrating anniversaries of various Disney films.  These first two celebrate Fantasia 2000 10th anniversary and the 65th of The Three Caballeros.  Each one sells for $19.95 and there is no mention of them being limited editions.  Available to D23 members only.

New Disney art by Brian Blackmore

Brian Blackmore will be at The Art of Disney Store at Walt Disney World's Dowtown Disney Marketplace on March 19th and 20th to debut his two latest works of art.  The paintings showcase two of my favorite places... Splash Mountain and Wilderness Lodge!  The first pin I ever stood in a loooooonnngggg line for was created by Brian Blackmore.  I don't remeber which pin but I remember the looooooonnnnnggggg line.
These look great and while I can't afford anything with this kind of price tag, I do enjoy stopping in and seeing the artwork on display at The Art of Disney Stores.

D-Street coming to Walt Disney World

D-Street will be opening at Florida's Downtown Disney in the shop formerly used by Planet Hollywood.  So all you Vinylmation fans can go shop there so I don't have to look at the stupid things in every shop I go in everywhere else, ok?

Who says pennies aren't worth what they used to be?

On February 9th, this penny, the first Disney pressed penny sold for over $1500 on ebay!  It is worth noting that this is a prototype coin that was never released to the general public.  The one that was mass produced is slightly different.

New Alice in Wonderland mouse ears

This new set of mouse ears is available at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.  Limited edition of 500.  Sells for $49.95.  Why you would have to be mad to pay that.  Mad I say!

vintage Mickey's Christmas Carol Snowglobe

It's not often I find a old snowglobe that I didn't know existed anymore, let alone one with Uncle Scrooge on it.  This Kurt Adler snowglobe was recently put on ebay and its one I've never seen before.

Alice in Wonderland Sneak Peek

There have been a lot of great Alice in Wonderland snowglobes over the years, and this one will be one of the best.  It's rare that I see a new snowglobe that makes me go wow!  This is one that should increase in value.

Also coming soon is this Fab 5 snowglobe which seems to have a Mickey on parade theme.  This sneek peek has been to brought to you courtesy of Velvet at mylittlemermaid.com.  Thanks Velvet.

Printed Keyboards

I've discovered Keyscaper.com, a company started last year that produces printed keyboards and computer mice.  So far no Disney license but they do have Marvel, Garfield and Star Trek products so you have to figure its only a matter of time before your favorite Disney characters are staring back at you from your keyboard.  Cool stuff but a bit expensive.  Makes a great gift!  Hint hint, nudge nudge.

Disney Plush for Easter

I don't usually pay much attention to the plush selection on DisneyStore.com but this Ludwig Von Drake toy caught my attention which lead me to the new Easter plush.  I like the Thumper & Marie Easter baskets the best.  They would make a nice Easter basket for small kids.  Slip in a DVD of Bambi or Aristocats and some candy and you've got a great basket.
