Happy New Year

So here's the 2009 entry from Walt Disney World in yearly logo series of Disney snowglobes. Not a great globe but kinda cute. Way overpriced at 14.95. I immediatley was wondering why the little figure of Nemo is on there. Is this the year of the fish or something? I then noticed the other logo merchandise like this cover of a scrapbook album.
Anybody got any ideas of why they only used Nemo on the globe?

I finally spotted the 2009 snowglobe at WDW but didn't have my camera. I should be able to get a pic and post it tomorrow night.

New Princess Snowglobe

Found this snowglobe at WDW in the Magic Kingdom today. It retails for $44.95. Plays "Once Upon A Dream" and has a flashing light in front of the castle that changes the color of the castle.
The tag had the standard Walt Disney World / Disneyland tag si it should also be availalbe in California.

Christmas Snowglobes 50% off

Stopped at Wal-Mart this morning and picked up these at 50% off. Would have liked to make the trip to Target as well but it is too far away without knowing if they have any left or not.

Christmas additions to my snowglobe collection

Here's two recent additions to my collection. The Mickey and Minnie snowdome has a simple charm I couldn't resist even with the low water level. I had hoped that once I received it there would be some identifying marks on it but alas all it says is made in china with a C. Disney mark.
It also has a price sticker of 1.99 on it that has no identifying marks. Can anyone tell me more about it? I assume it's not new since there is so much water missing.
The figurine snowglobe is from The Disney Store and originally sold for 19.50. It appears that Tink moves up and down but I don't have the odd size battery to try it out. Unfortunately the top of Mickey's hat is broken off and I didn't notice until after I'd given the ebayer some great feedback. Still its a nice snowglobe and a bargain at what I paid.

Cool Disney Stamps

No snowglobe news, but I purchased a book about Disney stamps that arrived today and it led me to these cool stamps depicting the Disney characters as Jules Verne characters. I'm going to be using the 2 souvenir sheets as my new desktop images for awhile. If anyone has this complete set for sale at a reasonable price or has a Disney stamp collection gathering moss on a shelf somewhere, I'd sure love to hear from you.

Jammin In The Jungle

Stopped by Animal Kingdom a couple of days ago to check out this years edition of the Christmas parade. Here are some of the pics I took while I was there.

  • The lions on the safari were actually moving! I've been on the safari ride at least 50 times and this is the first time I saw the lions actually up and about.
  • Many of the animals stank to high heaven. They've got an excuse, they are animals after all, but what about the tourists? Do us all a favor, next time your in Orlando on vacation: PLEASE take a bath once in awhile!
  • If you want to see the pics in the order took so you can see the parade pictures in the order in which the parade is presented, you will need to scroll to the bottom of the post and scroll upwards.
  • Didn't spot any new snowglobes and at this late date not expecting to see any new ones before Christmas. Haven't even been able to find a miniature snowglobe for 2009 yet. They are usually out by now, but I haven't seen any 2009 items yet.
