I purchased this 3-D lenticular placemat at WDW for 4.95. The spooky white line isn't on the picture and I have no idea where it came from! Ok, I used a flash and that's probably the reflection on one line of the lenticular, but hey, it's halloween so who knows!

It's a Gemmy
Stopped by Home Depot yesterday to get several things that will make my days off miserable for the next few weeks. The Christmas display is up and they had these two waterless snowglobes for $24.95They also had a Pooh one but alas that one is not available on their website like these two are.
Also available on their website is this inflatable monster.

Neverland Club
One place that relatively few Walt Disney World guests get to visit is the Neverland Club at the Polynesian Resort. In case you don't know what it is, it's basically a babysitting service where parents can leave their kids while they go out. When children enter, the lobby is themed to the Darling children's bedroom and the guests enter by going through the window into Neverland. I've been in there many times fixing some of the free arcade games that the kids get to enjoy and today I happened to have my camera with me.

Searching
Looked in a couple shops at Magic Kingdom toady searching for new snowglobes with no luck. I'm thinking there might be some new introductions soon as they beef up their stock for the holiday season.

Announcing The Disney Snowglobe Collectors Guide
After much deliberation the last few days, I've decided that it will be pretty much impossible to create the book I originally wanted to create. I wanted the book to be the ultimate guidebook to Disney snowglobes with information on each snowglobe and a clear, decent sized picture for identification purposes as well as making the book fun to glance through. However, as I've mentioned before, there are literally thousands of Disney snowglobes and even if I could manage to put together the information and pictures needed, the sheer size of the book would stop it from being published. To make the book a manageable size, the pics would have to be tiny and that's not the book I wanted to create.
So, what to do? I've put a lot of effort into this project and dont want to see it go to waste.
I'm happy to announce the start of THE DISNEY SNOWGLOBE COLLECTORS GUIDE.
I've started another blog here on blogspot that will contain the information I have and I will continue to add to it. It's the same project as before, but instead of a book it will be a searchable database. The best part is you won't have to wait, the blog is live right now and I'll be posting an entry for at least one snowglobe a day. Starting in 2009, I will begin tracking prices on ebay again and that information will also become available with periodic pricing updates for all entries.
This blog will also still be current with the latest releases and finds. The new blog entries will all be database entries. If you see mistakes or can fill in the blanks on some of the information, please do so by leaving a comment for the appropriate globe.
I'm starting with the plastic snowdomes which were the first section of my manuscript. I'd like to thank Hank Millett for providing most of the pictures I'll be posting in the coming weeks.
And now the moment you've all been waiting for.... The Link:

Hannah Montana now has 4 different snowglobes
Wal-Mart's Christmas department is open and they have quite a few snowglobes this year. They have 3 types of globes. They have the Gemmy waterless globes that hold pictures which I talked about awhile back. They have various princesses and Hannah Montana.
The 2nd type is the traditional glass water globe. They have Cars, Princesses and Hannah Montana.
The 3rd type are jelly globe ornaments. This year they are packaged 2 to a package. They have Cars, Princesses and Hannah Montana. Unfortunately the packaging is random within each license so if you want all the cars ornaments you may end up with extra Lightning McQueen ones. I don't know how many different ones there are but it looked like there was a Lightning McQueen in each package with the 2nd globe being a different character. The Princess ones seem to have the same problem.
I didn't buy any. I think the prices are a little high.

Disney Halloween Displays
Here are the Halloween displays from the Twelve Days of Christmas store in the WDW shopping village. I didn't know if the pics would turn out very well because of the window glare but it actually created kind of a misty effect that works very well. You can see my reflection in the 2nd picture

T-Rex now open
Here's some pics I took last week of the new T-Rex Cafe at Downtown Disney. I didn't eat there because of the long line. The restaurant is layed out pretty much exactly like the Rainforest Cafe and the menu was to my liking (chicken, burgers & ribs).

This old dome
Hadn't heard from Hank Millett in awhile, but he just sent me this picture of the latest addition to his extensive snowdome collection. This is made by Koziol in Germany.
I'm guessing this is from the 1980's when the Disney Babies promotion was in full swing. That take on the classic Disney characters seems to have been more popular overseas then it was here in the USA. Can anyone prove me wrong? Or right?
Jiminy Cricket Update
Juan Ortiz reveals some more details of the Jiminy Cricket radio snowglobe including the original concept art on his excellent blog.
Disney Dragonkind
If you've been reading this blog for awhile, you may recall me talking about the line of Disney Dragonkind statues from Gentle Giant and lamenting that they were not available anywhere at WDW. Well, now, at long last, they are! I shot these pics in the Gallery store at the shopping village.
Robin Hood and Wall-E available in Europe
The Robin Hood and Wall-E snowglobes are now available at the Disney Store UK website which most likely means they are now available in Disney Stores throughout Europe.

Happy Halloween Donald
This is the cover to a Donald Duck comic book that lucky kids will get while trick or treating this year. It is smaller then a regular sized comic and is designed to be handed out to trick or treaters. Check with your local comic shop to see if they will be handing any out.

Juan Ortiz update
Steve writes in one of the comments to a previous post that, Juan is no longer at Disney and provides this link to Juan's blog where he has been posting some Disney concept artwork again (yay!). I mention it here so you don't miss it. The blog is well worth checking out.

New Princess Globe not so new
Turns out the new Princess globe I showed earlier today isn't so new. It is a recreation of a 2000 globe from the Disney Catalog. There may be some color variation and the sondg is different.
New snowglobes available on DisneyShopping.com
This Nightmare Before Christmas snowglobe is a limited edition of 1200.
The mary Poppins Broadway Snowglobe is available again for those who missed it the first time.

Information Please
Anybody have this in their collection? I'd like to verify that it is an authentic Disney snowglobe and get an approximate year of release. The recent description on ebay sounded like the figures inside are like the figurines on a magnetic skating pond where they spin and twirl. Anybody have it? Anybody?

The pictures at DisneyShopping.com still aren't working, but devoted Nightmare collector Magikman went researching and forwarded me these pics. Thanks Magikman!
