A Visit to EPCOT

Visited Epcot today. It was the first time I'd seen the globe without the wand towering over it. I didn't hate the wand like so many others but it is nice to see it without it again. The new Canada film was fun, I wasn't sure what to expect since Martin Short has never impressed me but I liked it. I may never see it again because you have to stand up to watch it but I liked it. The food & wine festival starts tomorrow and some of the booths were allready operating. Unfortunately I arrived right at lunch time and had a burger at the electric umbrella before heading over to world showcase and was not aware I had another option for a quick meal. The entire space between Morocco and France is being taken up by Oklahoma this year. I wasn't aware they were their own country but I'll finally get to taste buffalo. Ye-hah!
No new globes to report but I didn't look real hard either.

That's odd

2 of the new snowglobes that were listed on the Disney Store UK website have vanished. Are they sold out allready? I didn't get the chance to record the information for my book. Hopefully they were delayed, broken or something and will be back.

Disney Snowglobes - UK arrivals

6 new globes have appeared on the Disney Store Uk site. Most have winter themes. Tinkerbell is my favorite. It seems the more I look at globes the more i appreciate a simple design done well then a huge globe with lots of characters.

error fixed

This morning, a quick visit to DisneyShopping.com shows they fixed the priceon the Jack Skellington globe. The original price is now listed at the correct price of $69.50 and the sale price is 59.95.

Sant Jack Skellington

I decided to stop at DisneyShopping.com again tonight to see if they had fixed the pricing on the Santa Jack Skellington globe and the sale price remained the same but they raised the original price to 89.50. It was never 89.50 until they changed it. I checked my records and it was 69.50 since its debut a couple of weeks ago until today. If you are buying this globe, I urge you to call and order it so you can try for a better price. I suppose they could claim the lower price was wrong until now.

DisneyShopping.com shopping tips

Just got done purchasing 2 globes at DisneyShopping.com to take advantage of the sale. I purchased the Rescuers globe which I think is very nice looking and expect it will increase in value and the Snow White globe . Snowm White's original price was 99.95 it is on sale for 39.95.

Be careful. The Santa Jack Skellington is on sale for more then the original price.

Discount code 3699 should get you another 15% off the sale price.
If your order totals more then $50 you can get it shipped for $5 with the shipfor5 code.

Disneyshopping.com sale

Many of the newer snowglobes at DisneyShopping.com have been put on sale. Says it is for today and tomorrow only but typically once they put a snowglobe on sale it stays on slae.

Disney Snowglobes - Top Ten Update

Top Ten Most Valuable Disney Snowglobes: Cars races into the #4 spot with a ebay auction that ended yesterday. The Disney Store globe of Radiator Springs that plays "King of the Road" ended at $330. The previous high for this globe was about half that. Below is the updated Top Ten list, with the recent changes I felt it was neccessary to repost the entire list. All price ranges include shipping and handling charges when known. All prices were recorded from ebay. Only the highest price sold was considered in the making of this list.
  1. Mary Poppins: 314.78-1200.00

  2. Mary Poppins: 101.88-476.55

  3. Nightmare Before Christmas: 119.90-417.20

  4. Cars: 73.37-335.00

  5. Chronicles of Narnia: 255.75

  6. Song of the South: 54.64-245.85

  7. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: 150.00-234.00

  8. Princesses: 36.55-216.67
  9. Disney Cruise Line: 213.00

  10. Disneyland: 194.84

Disney Snowglobe - Princess Christmas Ornaments

Disney has come out with a series of Christmas ornaments that might appeal to snowglobe collectors. Each Princess has a very small snowglobe with glitter inside. Retails for $12 each in the Christmas shops at WDW.

Disney Snowglobe - Jack Skellington

I've been aware of this globe, having seen it on ebay, but I've never seen it in person until today. I was under the impression it was no longer currently available, but there were 3 on a shelf at the Magic Kingdom today. As you can see by the pics, it is double-sided. Very nice globe for Nightmare fans and retails for only $20.

A Visit to the Haunted Mansion

I got to visit the refurbished Haunted Mansion today and its great. I don't intend to post any spoilers but they did a great job and the new effects and sound system are wonderful. The spooks haven't sounded and looked so good in years, if ever!

Disney Snowglobes - Top Ten

Another change to the top ten list to report. This Song of the South globe that was still available earlier this year rocketed to the 5th spot, knocking the Fox and the Hound globe out of the top ten. I haven't seen this one on ebay for a few weeks so that is what probably drove the price up so high. The previous high for this globe was around $75. It sold for 245.85 including shipping.

It did not include the artist notes or the limited edition pin.

Stitch snowglobe keychains

These are from Japan and I believe they are capsule toys like you would get out of a gumball type machine.

Disney Snowglobes - Top Ten Countdown

The top ten countdown I've been doing the last several days is allready wrong. The 3rd place Mary Poppins Snowglobe has taken over the 2nd spot with one selling for $476.55. That knocks the 2nd place globe to third place and gives Mary Poppins the top two spots.

#1: The most valuable Disney Snowglobe

My apologies for not posting this earlier. #1 comes as no surprise to folks who've read the previous posts. Whenever this Mary Poppins globe appears on ebay, I try to do an auction watch and let people know what it sold for.
Current ebay range: $314.78 to $1200. The $1200 price was extreme and I think the closest sale to that amount was around $600-700. There is one curently on ebay that still has several days to go. It is currently at $302.55.

Disney Snowglobe - Winnie the Pooh

Spotted at WDW, this small Winnie the Pooh globe reatails for $25. I do not have a picture of my own but borrowed this one from this ebayer.

Disney Snowglobes - What the Heck?!?!?

Disney put 3 more globes up on DisneyShopping.com, but they are old ones from around 1999-2000. They appear to be exactly the same. From a collectors standpoint, I really don't like this and hope its not the start of a trend. The pricing is odd as well. The Beauty and the Beast globe retailed for $95 in the late 1990's and is now $79.95. The Little Mermaid was $55 and is now $59.95. Roger Rabbit was $55 and is now $79.95. I really hope this is the first and last time they do this. It takes the fun out of collecting if items are never retired or can be brought back years later.

2nd most valuable Disney Snowglobe

Another Nightmare Before Christmas snowglobe fills the #2 spot. And again the high price was extreme. This sold on ebay for $119.99 to $417.20.

Haunted Mansion reopens at WDW

and I wont be there! But to celebrate I'm using Mouskavision to view a Haunted Mansion I've never seen before... Phantom Manor at Disneyland Paris! Click on the screen capture in the right column and video will play at the top of this blog in beautiful Mouskavision.

7 New Disney Snowglobes

7 New Disney Snowglobes have appeared on DisneyShopping.com. The Hercules urn has appeared on ebay a couple of times allready and is also available at the Disney Stores. The rest are mini-globes. At least a couple of the designs are very close to ones that have been released before. The one of Mickey for example has been done before but the previous one didn't have Minnie and they changed some of the colors. The Tinker Bell was previously available at the UK Disney Stores.

3rd most valuable Disney Snowglobe

The cast of Mary Poppins is on the 3rd most valuable Disney snowglobe. The high price that someone paid for this one was extreme. The lower end is what it usually sells for. Price range was $101.88 to $415.

Disney snowglobes - Baby Pooh

At some point these appeared on the Disney Store UK website. I believe they may have been on there for a few weeks and I thought they were the same Baby Pooh globes that were on there before, but they are different. Each retails for 10 pounds.

4th most valuable Disney Snowglobe

#4 in the countdown was a surprise to me. I've only seen this Chronicles of Narnia snowglobe sell once for $255.75.

Alice in Wonderland Update

I saw this globe in person today and was surprised at how small it was. As elaborate as it is I expected a medium size globe but it is definitely a mini. A very deluxe mini but still a mini. It's retail price at Walt Disney World is $25. The range I have seen it sell on ebay for is $41.95 to $77.50.

5th most valuable Disney Snowglobe

#5 in our Countdown of the most valuable Disney snowglobes is this oddball from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Not exactly a traditional snowglobe. If you look inside there is a giant squid. It has sold on ebay for $150 to $234.

6th most valuable Disney Snowglobe

#6 in our Countdown brings a visit from the Disney Princesses. I was surprised to see a Princess globe make the top ten. When I realized that Cinderella got left out, I thought the same thing would happen here. With so many Princess globes it just wouldn't make it into the top ten list. I was wrong (so what else is new). This globe is from 2000 and is one of the first to feature multiple Princesses. It is not the first but may be the 2nd. It originally retailed for $70 and I've seen it on ebay from $36.35 to $216.67. Both numbers are on the extreme side. The globe usually sells in the 80-110 range.

7th most valuable Disney Snowglobe

#7 brings us to the Disney Cruise Line. I've seen this globe sell only once so it is probably pretty rare, but then most of the Disney Cruise Line globes would be. It sold for $213.

8th most valuable Disney Snowglobe

#8 in our most valuable snowglobes countdown is this Disneyland globe of Sleeping Beauty's Castle. We don't know a whole lat about this globe as of yet. This is the globe I mentioned a few posts back and was looking for information on it. It may be a limited edition and KB suggested in the comments that it is from the 1970's. It sold for $194.84.

5 New Snowglobes at DisneyShopping.com

5 new globes joined the ranks at DisneyShopping.com today. The Cinderella and Peter Pan one seem to be the same as ones issued in the UK but with some coloring changes. The Cinderella globe has a working fountain and the smokestacks on Steamboat Willie move up and down. I like em all.
