The Comics are Coming!

It's been awhile since I mentioned my love of Disney comics. The Pixar and Muppet lines of comics are still in development at Boom Studios and should start appearing around March. Here's an interview with the editor of the line that mentions his hopes of getting them into book stores, libraries and scholastic. I hope they have better luck then Gemstone has had with Mickey and Donald.
Each series will be stand-alone issues without being continued but each 4 issues will be an arc which will then be collected into book format. I know that statement seems to contradict itself, but that's what the interview says.
The titles are:
  • The Incredibles
  • Cars
  • The Muppet Show
  • Toy Story
  • Finding Nemo
  • Wall-E
  • Monstes Inc
  • Muppet Show spoofs (probably a series of one-shot titles)

The first 3 titles are the ones that will launch the line with the others to follow soon after but it may depend on how the first ones do if they get to the other titles or not. It doesn't say that in the interview but that's how these things usually work.

I'm not sure if all the titles are supposed to be ongoing past 4 issues or not. I know Incredibles is but again, it may depend on sales of the first few issues if they continue past 4 issues or not.
