It's been a long while since one of these has shown up on ebay, but here we go again. It is currently at $325. The record to beat is $1538.11 including shipping. Thanks to seejanebrowse for pointing it out to me.

Disney Halloween by Gemmy
Looks like Gemmy will not have any Disney Halloween snowglobes. I'm still not sure if I should consider the items they produce as snowglobes or not since they contain no water.
Here are some of the Disney offerings they do have this year.

Alice's old Adventures
Thanks to the Disney Blog, I discovered yet another wonderful blog. This one's all about vintage Alice in Wonderland Disneyana. It just started a couple of months ago but it looks to be a treasure trove of information. http://vintagedisneyalice.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Ariel snowglobe spotting
Finally saw this new globe in person at Disney-Hollywood Studios yesterday. I thought the price was unusually reasonable at $39.95. I'd call it medium sized. It is definitely not a mini.

Weebles Wobble but they don't fall down
Saw this on ebay. There are 3 or 4 sets currently listed. I remember liking the weeble commercials when I was a small child, even though I never had any, mostly because of that silly catchphrase. This Mickey Mouse Club set looks like it would have been a fun thing to have.

Exhausted
Sorry for not posting anything yesterday. I know a lot of you visit every day and I hate to not have at least something new for you to read or look at.
I don't post much about my work here, first because that's not what this blog is about and second if I posted the way I feel about things at work most of the time and someone at work found it and read it I would undoubtably be fired.
I enjoy what I do and I really enjoy working on the remote control boats, unfortunately I don't much like the people I do it for.
Giving me more work, shortening my hours and then wondering why everything is falling apart and/or not working when the geniuses who worked on my days off during the recent tropical storm thought it would be a good idea to leave the remote control boats working out in the weather, doesn't do a whole lot for my mood, attitude, etc.
Anyway, you guys probably dont care about that stuff and barely have any idea what I'm talking about so on to more pleasant things.
We should start seeing Halloween stuff creep into the stores, so you should be watching for Disney snowglobes. You never know where they might pop up. I'm expecting Walgreens will have some as they did last year.
Main Street in the Magic Kingdom had some fall decoration banners up today, the rest of the Halloween decor probably wont be far behind.
Haven't had a chance to peek in any of the shops lately, but will be going to Studios this week for fun and should have a chance to look for new globes then.
I had hoped to have a contest in september that would give the winner a Disney snowglobe but I'm afraid I will have to postpone it to some other month. Mostly because I'm just too tired to put the effort into it.

Disney bootlegs part 2
Just thought I'd note that the bootleg Disney items I talked about last week are still in the machine. Apparently I'm the only one who thinks that is wrong.

no post today (except this one)
I'm posting to tell you that there is no post today. Does that make sense? Work was hard, I'm tired and in pain. G'Night.

Disney Snowdome Cup-date: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
This new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse snowdome tumbler cup is now available at the Disney Stores and online. The picture I have of the old Mickey Mouse tumbler isn't very clear and I can't tell if this new one uses the same figure or not.
I'm assuming these sell pretty darn well since they keep coming out with more of them. One suggestion to the designers: Halloween and Christmas editions would make nice additions to the line.

Mary Blair Artwork
I saw the following Mary Blair concept artwork on the Hake's auction site and they reminded me of the current contreversy of Disney characters being added to It's A Small World in Disneyland. I'm one of those who believe that the Disney characters should not be added however seeing these paintings give me hope that the additions may not be as intrusive as most fear. If the imaginers use Mary Blair's concept artwork from the films as models it may turn out to be acceptable.

Tick Tock Toys
I discovered this site today: Tick Tock Toys. It's got a lot of pages about classic characters and cereal boxes and store displays and other stuff. A good portion of them are Disney Items. Here's a sampling.

Disney bootlegs
Working in the Tomorrowland arcade today, I was checking out the merchandise in the Sports Arena (a prize game-see picture). One wheel has a series of items that look similar to a pin but is on a necklace. There is one of Donald Duck, a dalmation and a Mickey as a matador or something. They are called flashers and have leds built into them that flash. They are pretty neat but something always bothered me about them. While looking at them today I noticed that the tail of Donald's hat was red. I took the item in the back and examined very closely. No Disney copyright notice anywhere on the item or on the packaging.
I turned the item into the guy in charge of games for Disney and he agreed with me that it looked like it was not official merchandise. I used to work for the company that stocks the prize games and I know for a fact that they wouldn't knowingly deal in bootleg merchandise. I also know that if I still worked there it would never have made it into a machine.
The moral of the story is that this is the sort of thing that can happen when a company like Disney farms out things they should be doing in house.

I found a picture on ebay of the Donald flasher.

a Disney Channel Snowglobe?
Found these pictures on ebay. First time I've ever seen or heard of a Disney Channel snowglobe. Was it a premium? Gift for subscribing? Employee gift? Does anybody know?
To my fellow Floridians: Don't worry to much about the hurricane, it's just God shaking up his snowglobe.

Disney Halloween Decor
Looks like Disney is going to have some killer Halloween decorations available this year. These really cool window posters are $12.50 at DisneyShopping.com.
The Jack Skellington candy dish is $29.50.

Star Tours 2?
For years there have been rumors about a 2nd Star Tours film, since the first one debuted actually. One of the things touted about the ride system was that you could swap out the movie and create a whole new ride.
For awhile now there has been fairly reliable rumors that an update is in the works. LaughingPlace.com is now saying we could get an announcement this fall with the new film/ride debuting sometime next year.
LaughingPlace.com doesn't normally talk about rumors and gossip so one hopes that their source could be quite reliable. Also Soarin is supposed to get updated as part of the California Adventure redo.
Of course, what the fans really want to know is...Will there be snowglobes?

Snowglobe Sale
DisneyShopping.com is having a snowglobe sale advertising up to 50% off. Usually when they advertise that, there is only 1 or 2 globes that are actually 50% off but this time there are a lot.
Including the brand new Cinderella Carriage that just debuted a few days ago.
I copied this list of discount codes from the Dizpins.com forum.
- DISNEY15 - 15% off purchase using Disney Visa Card. (Expires: 11:59 pm PT August 12, 2008) THANKS KSWIZ!!!
- SHIPFOR5 - $5.00 shipping with $50.00 purchase. (Expires: 11:59 pm PT August 17, 2008)

- VISABTS15 - 15% off purchase using Disney Visa Card. (Valid: August 15, 2008 - September 15, 2008) THANKS DONNAM!!!
Plus you can shop through this site for free and earn 4% cash back. Plus if you sign up through the link I've provided you get a ten dollar sign up bonus.
So lets do the math, If you buy a $80 snowglobe that's on sale for $40 plus get an additional 15% off plus 4% cash back plus another $10.... your total for the globe is $22.64 for an $80 globe. Sometimes Disney lets you use more then 1 discount code so try using both the 15% and 10% off but make sure you pay attention to if it is giving you both or not, otherwise you might only get the 10 instead of the 15.

Little Mermaid Snowglobes
I found the new princess series today in the Magic Kingdom, they are mini's, just a few inches tall and sell for $14.95.
I din't find this one, which Velvet found on a ebay auction. According to the auction listing it is a new theme park globe. I checked both places in the Magic Kingdom that sell snowglobes and Pop Century.

Cinderella snowglobe gets a new look
While inserting the new globes into my book manuscript, I noticed the personalized Cinderella globe is actually another recreation. They changed the paint scheme and added the personalization plaque but otherwise it appears to be the same. If they did this with all the recreations instead of making most of them the same, I wouldn't mind them so much.

New Disney Snowglobes
The following 4 Disney snowglobes are now available on DisneyShopping.com.
The halloween one is fun and plays "Grim Grinning Ghosts"
The Band Concert looks like a great representation of one of the greatest Disney cartoons of all time. I've changed the Mouskavision sidebar videos to this cartoon for anyone who would like to view it. Keep in mind that the rumor is that this is what the orange stinger will be themed to at DCA.
The Cinderella wedding globe is a surprise because we missed it in our sneak peeks.
The Peter Pan Big Ben snowglobe is a recreation of one offered in 2004 in the Disney Catalog. Recreation might not be the right word to use for these globes that were offered just a few years ago. It's possible that they have been available right along, perhaps in the overseas parks.

Disney miniglobes in the UK
Apparently the Uk site has had some new snowglobes but instead of calling them snowglobes they started calling them miniglobes and they were no longer showing up in my searches. Thanks to Velvet for bringing this to my attention. Velvet, I don't know for sure that they are available in the physical Disney Stores but I am almost positive they are. The box in the auction you linked to says Disney Store exclusive on the box and there is nothing in the online listings saying they are exclusive to the online store. I'm guessing someone on Dizpins could help you out with purchasing one.
